Cuba finish second in U17Caribbean Football Union championshipHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 26 (acn) Cuba lost 0-5 to Haiti and finished in a creditable second seat in the final round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U17 championship, staged in Trinidad and Tobago.

There was not such disparity in the first half, which finished 1-0, where the winners only managed to score through Steve Moondestin at 36th minute, but in the second half Haitians had no mercy with Cubans and scored four goals through Steve Saint Doc, Jean Danley, Louidon Cassues and Nael Elysee, at 55, 65, 78 and 90 minutes, respectively.
If adding the previous four games of this tournament, and the three others played in the first round of the Caribbean phase, the Cuban side only lost in this crucial match against Haiti, only team they failed to score goals. Its final balance was of 30 goals for and 7 against.
Cubans had won unbeaten the qualifying group B and got a direct ticket to the CONCACAF qualifiers, to be held in Panama, next April, tournament which grants four berths for the 2017 World Cup in India.
Cuba has attended two U17 World Cups, Scotland 1989 and Italy 1991.
