Second place in Cuban baseball extend winning streak to fiveHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 21 (acn) The runner-up Ciego de Avila and Guantanamo teams extended their winning streaks to five straight wins in the continuation of the Cuban baseball championship in its 56th edition.

Abdel Civil hit a two-run homer and rookie Lazaro Linares drove in three runs to lead the Ciego de Avila Tigers 7-1 win over Mayabeque, with the eighth win of the season for Vladimir Garcia, who only allowed four hits and one earned run in eight innings.
Led by homers of Felix Carbonell and Gabriel Garbey, the Guantanamo Indians ratified their great competitive moment when beating 7-3 Sancti Spiritus, with Dayron Riera as winner and save to the rookie Yeudis Reyes.
Villa Clara beat 7-4 Santiago de Cuba to achieve its fourth win in line, with offensive highlight for Raul Reyes, 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs for the cause of the winners, seconded by homer of Yeniet Perez, meanwhile Edilse Silva also homered for the losing side.
Las Tunas also accumulates a four-game winning streak by defeating 7-1 Cienfuegos, with solid pitching performance by Yudiel Rodriguez, offensively backed by Yuniesky Larduet´s two RBIs.
In other results, Industriales won 3-2 over Artemisa and Isla de la Juventud overcame 4-2 Granma.
