Cuban chess GMs play in the Spanish Team Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 20 (acn) Cubans Leinier Dominguez and Yuniesky Quesada will attend from today in the Spanish Team Championship (Honor Division) chess tournament, to take place in the community of Aragon.

Usually involving players from different continents, the event will be held this time in the town of Monzon with the presence of eight teams and until October 2nd.
Leinier (2720 Elo points) will be again enrolled in the Sestao Naturgas Energia, team that already knows what to win at that level is, and that also includes other players of the world elite such as Hungarian Richard Rapport (2752) and Azeri Teimour Radjabov (2722).
The best Cuban player nowadays will travel on Wednesday to the headquarters of the contest encouraged by the recent conquest of the silver medal at the World Olympiad in Baku, where he totaled 7.5 points of possible 10 in defense of the first board.
His compatriot Quesada (2636) will play for the C.A. Equigoma Casa Social Catolica and will have as teammates Venezuelan Eduardo Iturrizaga (2650) and Polish Kacper Piorun (2681), among others.

Meanwhile, Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov (2677) stands out in the Club Magic Extremadura, the Merida Patrimonio de la Humanidad will have as its ace to Russian Ernesto Inarkiev (2732), and the VTI Atocha will count on that role with the local David Anton (2630).
It will be a 7-round tournament and in the first of them the pairings will be Atocha-Club Jaime Casas, Equigoma-Gros Xaque Taldea, Merida-Sestao and Club Magic-Solvay.
