Cuban national basketball team (men) to play in China

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 20 (acn) Dalia Henry, vice president of the Cuban Basketball Federation, assessed as very important the tour the Cuban national men's team will make to China from October 12 to 30.

Henry, once an extraordinary basketball player, told ACN that the squad will be made up of young players who have excelled in the National Promotion Tournament, so this opportunity will be very helpful for these athletes, because they will face rivals of higher level and experience.
She added that the Caribbean side will have the opportunity to play 10 games against clubs from Venezuela, United States and Canada.
The Cuban men´s national basketball pre-selection starts this stage on Chinese soil with a 30 percent of renewal, a generational change Henry described as positive to rejuvenate the team.
Four players who are currently contracted in foreign league such as the cases of Orestes Torres and Livan Valdés, in El Salvador, Javier Jústiz, in Argentina, and Joan Luis Haiti, in Panama, won´t attend the tour, the Cuban official noted.
