GM Quesada is now number two Cuban chess player

GM Quesada is now number two Cuban chess playerHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 1 (acn) Yuniesky Quesada climbed to second seat in Cuba after updating the international ranking prior to the Chess Olympiad 2016 starting today in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan.

Quesada added two units to his Elo and now totals 2 636 points that placed him behind Leinier Dominguez, who kept his 2 720 units of the previous period.
The discrete advancement of the now Cuban sub-leader was combined with the loss of 20 points by Lazaro Bruzon, traditional number two who now appears third with 2 623 units.
The new order could influence on how the boards two and three of the Cuban team in the Olympic tournament will be defended, because in the latest editions the degree of hierarchy was adjusted to individual coefficients.
That criterion would ratify Isan Ortiz (2 581) as fourth board and the position of substitute must be assumed by Yuri Gonzalez (2553).
Among women, Maritza Arribas was confirmed on top with 2 320 points that distinguish her as the only one with more than 2 300 units in the quintet sent to the Azeri capital.
Yaniet Marrero (2281), Oleiny Linares (2276) and Lisandra Llaudy (2269) should make up the Cuban roster in that order, with Yuleisy Hernandez (2264) as substitute.
