HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 29 (acn) In rematch, Cuban futsal team will play its fifth and final friendly match in Argentina facing the national side of that country, which already thrashed it 11-2 in its debut.
It is worth mentioning that the Cubans arrived in Argentina on August 21st from Guatemala, and they use these games as training for the upcoming World Cup, which will take place on Cali, Colombia, from next September 10 to October 1st.
After that defeat in the first game, Cubans then achieved three consecutive wins against local clubs: Rosario Central (8-6); Regatas (5-3) and Newell´s Old Boys (4-3).
Regarding their presence on Guatemalan soil, from August 14 to 20, it was known they played four friendly matches with balance of two draws and two losses, with the debut in the team of Andy Baquero, right back of the Cuban national soccer squad.
This tour to the Central American nation included a 5-5 draw against the Legendario club and then another tie (3-3) to the local U23 national side. But later, Cuba was thrashed 7-1 and 5-2 by the Guatemalan national team.
After completing their visit to Argentina, Cuban players will return to Havana and on September 4th they will depart for Cali. At that WC, they share the tough Group B with Russia, Egypt and Thailand.
