Cuban wrestler Lugo for the gold in wrestling in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 16 (acn) Cuban Yasmany Lugo (98 kg) reached the final of the Greco-Roman tournament of Rio 2016 Olympic Games hosted by this Brazilian city.

Lugo, Toronto 2015 Pan American champion, defeated 2-0 in semifinals Swedish Fredrik Schoen and will fight in the final versus Armenian Artur Aleksanyan, London 2012 bronze medalist and last year world monarch, who beat (9-0) in semifinals Turkish Cenk Ildem.
The Cuban athlete had previously beat (4-0) the prominent Iranian Gholamreza Rezai, London 2012 Olympic monarch and last year world silver medalist, and Chinese Xiao Di (2-0).
Also today, another representative of the Caribbean nation, Miguel Martinez (66) lost in his debut 2-4 to Azeri Rasul Chunayev, Las Vegas 2015 universal monarch.
So far, Cubans have had an excellent performance at the Olympics with the titles won by Ismael Borrero (59 kilos) and Mijain Lopez (130), the latter a legend of the sport by winning his third gold medal.
