Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez goes for third Olympic goldRIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 15 (acn) Cuban Mijain Lopez will make his debut today in search of his third Olympic gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling style in Rio 2016 Games, based in this city of Brazil.

At the Carioca 2 Arena, the five-time world champion in the 130 kilograms will face Estonian Heiki Nabi in the round of sixteen.
Cuba will also compete today in men´s beach volleyball through the duo made up by Sergio Gonzalez and Nivaldo Diaz, who will seek the semifinal against Russian pair of Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Konstantin Semenov.
Both teams reach the quarter-finals unbeaten so a tough battle is expected in the Copacabana Arena.
Boxing will continue its presentations at Riocentro Complex with Arlen Lopez (75 kg) in the quarter-finals against Frenchman Christian Mbilli, and Yosbany Veitía (52) will debut versus Achraf Khsrroubi, from Morocco.
At the Olympic Stadium there will also be Cuban presence in the
women´s discus throw event with Denia Caballero, world champion in 2015, and Yaime Perez, fourth in that same tournament; women´s 200 meters through Arialis Gandulla; José Luis Gaspar in the men´s 400 meters hurdles and Yordan O´farrill in the 110 meter hurdles.
In addition, in the waters of Lagoa Stadium, Yusmari Mengana
will compete in the women´s kayak single event (K1) 200
meters, and the Cuban men´s volleyball team, which remains winless, will face Poland (3-1) at Maracanãzinho court.
