HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 13 (acn) Cuban judoka Idalys Ortiz gave Cuba its first medal in the Olympics when she won the silver medal in the over 78 kilograms division.
Ortiz, Olympic champion in London 2012, lost her final match against French Emilie Andeol by ippon, after winning her other three fights,
In her first combat, Ortiz beat South Korean Minjeong Kim by wazari-awasete-ippon and then went against Russian Ksenia Chibisova for an easy victory by ippon.
In semi-finals the Cuban athlete won over Japanese Kanae Yamabe.
