RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 12 (acn) Boxer Roniel Iglesias (69 kg) reached Cuba´s eighth straight win at Rio 2016 Olympic Games, in this Brazilian city.
At Rio Centro Complex, the Olympic champion of London 2012 in the 64 kilos division beat Armenian Vladimir Margaryan by TKO, and got his ticket to quarter-finals against Giyasov Shakhram, from Uzbekistan, on the coming day 13.
Called to lead the medals contribution for Cuba in Rio 2016, the boxing team already won two bronze medals through Joahnys Argilagos (49) and Erislandy Savon (91).
Cuba´s coming presentations will be today in the semifinal bout of Joahnys Argilagos versus Colombian Yurberjen Martinez; the quarter-final fight by Lazaro Alvarez (60) against American Carlos Balderas; and Arlen Lopez (75) will debut against Hungarian Adam Zoltan Harcsa.
