RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 11 (acn) Cuban Jose Armenteros (100 kg) defeated Mongolian Tuvshinbayar Naidan and advanced to the second round in the judo tournament of Rio 2016 Olympic Games, in this Brazilian city.
Armenteros, 2014 world runner-up, won by yuko over the London 2012 Olympic silver medalist, qualifying thus to the next phase, where he will face Egyptian Ramadan Darwish, who beat by ippon Dominic Dugasse (Seychelles Islands).
In addition, the also Cuban Yalennis Castillo (78), silver medalist in Beijing 2008, beat in an extremely hard-fought bout, which went to the golden score definition, Dutch Marhinde Verkerk, 2009 world champion and last year European monarch.
