Cuban judoka Asley Gonzalez wins first bout in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 10 (acn) Cuban Asley González (90 kg) advanced today to the second round of the judo competition of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, based in this Brazilian city.

Gonzalez, London 2012 Olympic runner-up, added his second win when beating Ukrainian Quedjau Nhabali by immobilization in combat held at the Carioca Arena 2.
Previously, the Cuban judoka had won by ippon over Bolivian Michel Martin, and in his next bout in the knockout round he will face Mongolia´s Otgonbaatar Lkhagvasuren.
Besieged by injuries in recent times, Asley González came in fullness of sportsmanlike manner to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where he won the world championships held in 2013.
