RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Aug 4 (acn) Several Cubans make up the body of delegates, international officials and referees called to guarantee the 31st Olympic Games, which opening ceremony will be tomorrow in this city.
The National Umpires and Referees Commission said that in the first of these functions the Caribbean island will be present through the president of its cycling federation, José Peláez, and Eugenio Martinez (water polo).
The international officials selected by the authorities of their sports are Gustavo Rollé (wrestling), Tomas Haces (swimming) and Dr. Barbaro Gutierrez (boxing).
To impart justice were called Luis Enrique Charadán (badminton), Rolando Ruiz Pedreguera (diving) and Guillermo Orestes Molina (wrestling).
Rafael Guerra (shooting) will act as president of the jury and Sergio Font (archery) will work as federative.
The Cuban delegation also confirmed that Dr. Jorge Pavel Pino, director of the Sports Medicine Institute, is part of the multinational team organized for this event by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
