HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 14 (acn) Villa Clara´s forward Roberney Caballero, who is only 20, was elected MVP of Cuba´s 101 st National Soccer Championship, event in which that same team won is 14th scepter.
The news known in the Tournament Awards Gala, developed at "Camilo Cienfuegos" movie theater, in Santa Clara, where there were released the names of the players who excelled in each position. Caballero scored six goals.
The award for best goalkeeper of the campaign was shared by Guantanamo´s Geandry Negret and Ciego de Avila´s Anoides Sardinas, who according to statistics received 15 goals in 1300 minutes.
Meanwhile, Ciego de Avila´s striker Sander "Keko" Fernández earned the trophy again as leading scorer, this time with 16 goals.
Moreover, Holguin´s Yadel Martinez again received the nomination for best referee, while Villa Clara´s Raidel Toledo was the best assistant.
The National Soccer Commission also appointed Zulueta court (Villa Clara) as the best in the tournament, and Guantanamo Hotel highlighted as the most capable in hosting athletes.
It is worth noting that despite this Awards Gala already took place; the competition still has a game to officially close. It is the suspended match between Isla de la Juventud and Santiago de Cuba, to be held on September 10, at El Rodeo stadium, Nueva Gerona.
