Cuba keeps winning in Can-Am baseball LeagueHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 29 (acn) The Cuban baseball team extended its streak to seven consecutive wins at the Can-Am League when beating 9-4 the New Jersey Jackals in a seven innings game.

Freddy Asiel Alvarez allowed three earned runs and six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in five innings to earn the win, while Matt Loosen allowed 15 hits and nine runs and took the loss.
Cuba batted 18 hits, with highlight for catcher Yosvani Alarcon, who hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs, in a match held at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, in the US state of New Jersey.
Second baseman Raul Gonzalez also contributed to the Cuban cause by hitting 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, seconded by Juan Carlos Torriente, 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI.
Now Cuba has balance of 10 wins and seven losses in its competitive tour of several cities in Canada and the United States, preparatory to upcoming international commitments.
The Quebec Capitales leads the Can-Am League with balance of 24-12, followed by New Jersey Jackals (23-14), Rockland Boulders (20-16), Ottawa Champions (20-17), Sussex County Miners (13-23) and Trois-Rivieres Aigles (10-26).
The Cuban side will face again on Wednesday and Thursday the New Jersey Jackals, and will finish its competitive tour on Saturday, July 2nd, versus the Japanese squad of Shikoku Island (6-11), also invited to the North American baseball circuit.
