HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (acn) Cuba´s women´s national team beat Australia 3-1 during the second day of the third level of the Volleyball Grand Prix underway in the Australian city of Bendingo.
According to the event´s website, Cubans won the first and second sets, with scores of 25-22 and 27-25, but lost concentration and fell 18-25 in the third, to recoup and win the fourth 27.25.
Host Eliza Hynes was the top scorer in the game with 20 points, and had support from teammate Beth Caerey with 14.
On the Cuban side Sulian Matienzo with 19, and Jennifer Alvarez with 14 led their team to victory.
Cuba will face Colombia tomorrow and Australia will play against Croatia.
