Cuba appoints manager for baseball team to play in Can-Am League

HAVANA, Cuba, May 11 (acn) Coach Roger Machado will be the manager of the Cuban national team that will hold 18 games since next June 9 th against teams from the Canadian-American (Can-Am) Baseball League.

In its tour of cities in Canada and the United States, the Cuban side will play in the regular phase of the independent baseball circuit and will also held a friendly match against a Japanese squad, reported the digital edition of the sports publication JIT.
The list of 28 players will emerge from a pre-selection of between 35 and 40 players who will be called to training in coming days, based at Latinoamericano Stadium in Havana, according to sources of the National Directorate of the sport.
It was also announced that the purpose of the call will be conducting a training base aimed at prioritizing personalized work focused on correcting difficulties encountered during the recent Cuban baseball championship and enhance the tactical development of the group.
