Cuban futsal squad departs for Costa RicaHAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (acn) The Cuban futsal squad, composed of 14 players, will leave today to Costa Rica, to attend the CONCACAF championship of the sport, scheduled from May 8 to 14 at the BN Arena, in Hatillo.

The pupils of the seasoned coach Clemente Reynoso will fight there for one of the four tickets the tournament grants for the World Cup, which will be settled in Cali, Colombia, from next September 10 to October 1st.
According the draw, Cubans were enrolled in group B alongside the hosts, Curacao and Canada.
Meanwhile, poole A includes Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and the winner of the play-off match between Trinidad and Tobago and Honduras.
Thus, Cuba will debut on Sunday against Curacao; on Monday it will face the local side and will close the preliminary stage facing Canada.
The Cuban team is made up by goalkeepers Brennieth Suarez and Nelson Jhonston, while Sandy Dominguez, Diego Ramirez, Daniel Hernandez and Luis Yunior Portal will be in the wings.
It was also announced that Ronald Egozcue, Karel Mariño, Edgar Castillo, Reinier Socarrás and Reinier Fiallo will be the defenders-wings, while Denis Marquez, Alejandro Marrero and Jhonnet Stalin Martinez will play as pivots.
Cuba consecutively attended the Futsal World Cups of Spain 1996, Guatemala 2000, Chinese Taipei 2004 and Brazil 2008, but failed to qualify to the latest edition based in Thailand four years ago.
