HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (acn) Cuban Leslie Amat will take part tomorrow in the Triathlon World Cup of Huatulco, Mexico, which will award points to the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, next August.
Amat, who appears 146th in the world ranking with 642 units, will compete in her second universal stop, after having finished 35th among 57 opponents in the edition of Chengdu, China, in April, with time of 2: 17.34 hours.
According to JIT sports publication, the distance to be covered will be the same as that of the Asian event, which consisted of 1 500 meter swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running.
This website also says that the list of best athletes among the 31 attending the event includes Ukrainian Yuliya Yelistratova (29th /2472 points), South African Mari Rabie (32/2 347), Spanish Miriam Casillas (36/2 272) and Swiss Jolanda Annen (37/ 2134), among others.
After completion of this tourney, the Cuban representative, along with her coach Dióseles Fernandez, will make a training base prior to the Pan American Cup of Ixtapa, in that same country, on May 21st.
