HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 29 (acn) The Cuban men's soccer team will face today as visitor the French Guyana, in match of group 3 in the second qualifying day of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) towards the Caribbean Cup.
In their debut last Tuesday at Havana's Pedro Marrero stadium, Julio "Lulo" Valero's pupils beat Bermuda 2-1 with goals by Daniel Luis Saez and Alberto Gomez.
Meanwhile, Guyanese side debuted on Saturday with 1-2 defeat against Bermuda precisely, despite showing greater mastery of the ball. However, they were not able to turn it into goals and Cubans should also take advantage of that situation.
For today's match, if as expected "Lulo" uses the same 4-4-2 system he used versus Bermuda, the keeper would be Diosvelis Guerra, while Andy Baquero, Yasmani Lopez, Yosiel Piedra and Angel Horta would play as defenders.
In addition, Carlos Domingo Francisco, Daniel Luis Saez, Yasniel Naples and "Beto" Gomez would be the midfielders, while Maykel Reyes and Arichel Hernandez would be the forwards.
If winning today over French Guyana, the Cuban side would advance to the next stage of the tournament to be held next June.
