Three more Cuban boxers qualify to Rio Olympics

Three more Cuban boxers qualify to Rio OlympicsHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 18 (acn) Erislandy Savon, Leinier Peró and Roniel Iglesias won their respective semifinal bouts in the Olympic Qualifying Boxing Tournament of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and earned their tickets for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Savon defeated 3-0 Brazilian Juan Gonçalves, just like Peró who beat Clayton Laurent, from Virgin Islands, while Iglesias won by the same way over Argentine Alberto Palmetta.
After finishing the fight for the pass to the final, Savon, Toronto 2015 Pan American Games champion of the 91 kilograms, told Prensa Latina that that was the moment he was waiting, a reward for all the hours of training during so many years.
Meanwhile, Peró (+91) said he was relieved after getting the berth, the rigor of competition demands a lot, and I still have to train better for the Games. I managed to increase my weight, and I think gaining a few pounds more before the Olympics.
Iglesias (69) noted that he just met the instructions from the corner. I am very happy to reach the ticket to Rio, but it does not end here, I want the title in that tournament.
With these three berths achieved in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Argentina, Cuba has already nine boxers for the Brazilian event to be held next August.
