Cuba takes best boxers to match versus Ukraine

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 25 (acn) The flyweight Yosbany Veitía and super heavyweight Leinier Pero will debut this Saturday at the 6 th World Series of Boxing (WSB) when the Cuba Domadores to face the local side of the Ukraine Otomans in the city of Kharkiv.

The other Cuban boxers confirmed to defend the colors of the WSB last year runner up are the lightweight Lazaro Alvarez, welterweight Roniel Iglesias and light heavyweight Julio Cesar La Cruz, all winners when they faced the Turkey Conquerors.

The universal runner up Veitía will rival the local monarch Maksym Fatych, who already won his previous bout , and the Pan American champion Pero will have as opponent Rostyslav Arkhypenko, who will also make his debut on Saturday.

Alvarez, three times world monarch, will try to break the unbeaten record of Viktor Slavinskyi (1-0) in the current season, and the Olympic gold medalist Iglesias will attempt to do the same at the expense of Serhii Bohachuk.

The match to be hosted by the Sports Palace of that European city will be the third of the Caribbean squad, which has six points and appears on top of Group A, because they previously beat Turkish and Chinese teams with identical score of 5-0, the latter in the C-1 format.
The Ukraine Otomans also total six units, but they lost one of their previous 10 bouts, so there will only be one leader after Saturday.
