Santiago´s Frometa wins sixth stage of Cuban cycling tourCIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba, Feb 22 (acn) Santiago de Cuba's Argenis Frómeta won the sixth stage and the two intermediate sprints of the National Tour which covered 106 kilometers from Camagüey to Ciego de Avila.

Frómeta , 19, reached the finish line in 2.19.24 hours, escorted by Guantanamo 's Yohandry Touset and Artemisa´s Yasmany Balmaceda.
Yan Carlos Arias, from Las Tunas, now leads the individual general event with 20 seconds of advantage over Balmaceda.
The seventh stage of this third edition of the Guantánamo-Pinar del Rio-Havana Classic will be of 167 kilometers and will start on José Martí Park, in Ciego de Avila city up to Sancti Spiritus, with intermediate sprints in the towns of Jatibonico, Sancti Spiritus and Trinidad.
It also features two KOM awards, B category, in El Mirador and Topes de Collantes.
The current event, considered cycling route championship - provisional substitute of the expected and international Tour- took place from Camaguey to Havana in 2014, from Guantánamo to the same destination in 2015, and as novelty, this year, before reaching Havana, will extend its route to Pinar del Río.
The race, 1 455 kilometers in total, serves as training for the qualifying events towards Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics.
