HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 11 (acn) The Cuban women's team will try today to achieve its first victory in the World Handball Championships, with a stage in several cities in Denmark until next December 20.
Cuba , which appears in group B, totals four consecutive defeats in the demanding tournament, so it already lost chances of qualifying to the knockout stage.
Its rival today is Sweden , which along with Holland lead this poole with seven points, followed by Poland (6); Angola and China (2) and Cuba (0).
On Wednesday, in its fourth appearance in the tournament, the Cuban side easily lost 45-23 to Holland.
Previously, they were beaten by Poland (22-27); China (30-39) and Angola (23-38).
This universal event is attended by 24 teams divided into four groups, highlighting the Brazilian squad, which is the current world champion .
This is Cuba's third experience in women's world handball tournaments, because they previously attended the 1999 and 2011 editions.
