Cuban national soccer team tours Central America

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 8 (acn) The Cuban national soccer team, with a roster of 19 players, departed yesterday to Managua, Nicaragua, where it will begin a four-game trip through Central America.

The squad coached by Raul Gonzalez Triana will play two games on Nicaraguan soil against the national side of that country, on December 9 and 11, and then they will move to Honduras to hold two more matches versus its counterpart of that nation on December 14 and 16.
Triana called up Diosvelis Guerra (Artemisa), Elier Pozo (Pinar del Rio) and Delvis Lumpui (Villa Clara) as gatekeepers, while the defenders are Andy Baquero (Havana), Yosel Piedra (Villa Clara), Yasmany Lopez ( Ciego Avila), Yasniel Napoles (Camagüey) and David Urgellés and Hannier Dranguet (Guantanamo).
The midfielders will be Yolexis Collado and Daniel Luis Saez (Havana), Carlos Domingo Francisco (Santiago de Cuba), Alejandro Portal (Mayabeque), Jorge Luis Clavelo (Villa Clara) and Alberto "Beto" Gomez (Guantanamo).
Meanwhile, the forwards are Alexei Zuaznábal (Guantanamo), Shandriel Martell (Matanzas), Eddy Saname (Havana) and Eduard Puga ( Sancti Spiritus).
These four warm up games will be very useful for the Cuban national team to face the playoff to be held next January 8, as visitor to Panama at Rommel Fernandez Stadium in search of the ticket to the Centennial Copa America, based in the United United.
