HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 23 (acn) The Nittany Lions baseball team of Pennsylvania State University will face today the Cuban side of Industriales at 1 pm at Havana's Latinoamericano Stadium.
The American players make up a team that competes in Division One of the National Colleges Athletic Association (NCAA), the upper echelon of the sport among schools at that level.
This university visiting Cuba also competes in other specialties such as soccer, basketball, ice hockey and golf.
In the case of baseball, Coach Rob Cooper announced before leaving his country the starting pitchers rotation.
So, today's pitcher will be the left-hander Taylor Lehman, who six feet eight inches tall, and was named the team's MVP last year, while the also lefty Ian Rendon could be his opponent.
Meanwhile, right-hander Sal Biasi will be the starter of the match of Wednesday 25 against Ciego de Avila (10:00 am in the same ballpark ).
On Friday 27 they will play versus Mayabeque at Nelson Fernandez Stadium and will finish their visit facing the Matanzas Crocodiles at Victoria de Giron stadium, starting at 11 am on Saturday 28th.
