HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 29 (acn) The Olympic Committees of Cuba and Australia signed a four-year term partnership agreement on Thursday to boost the development of athletes and coaches ahead of Rio 2016 and to collaborate in the fight on doping.
According to international media, the accord was penned by Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates and by the secretary general of the Cuban organization, Ruperto Herrera Tabio.
The partnership accord stipulates the exchange of information on sports science and sports medicine, and also on the setting up of new sports facilities.
Under the partnership, they will share information on sports science and sports medicine as well as the construction of new facilities.
"This agreement will help both Australian and Cuban athletes and coaches as they strive for success on the world's greatest sporting stage, the Olympic Games," Coates said as quoted by international media outlets.
