HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (acn) The national senior soccer team of Nicaragua will give today a rematch to Cuba Olympic squad (Under 23), when facing them in the second and last friendly match at Pedro Marrero Stadium in this city.
On Wednesday, the Nicaraguan defeated 1-0 the young Caribbean side with a penalty scored by striker Carlos Chavarria at 60th minute.
The Cuban team, coached by Raul Gonzalez Triana, will use these two matchups as training for the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament, to be held from October 1 to 13 in several US cities .
In that event, which will include eight teams divided in two groups, Triana´s pupils appear in Poole A with Panama, Canada and the home side, looking for a ticket to the 2016 Summer Olympics.
For this last game, Triana´s lineup must almost the same of last Wednesday, with the goalkeeper Sandy Sanchez and defenders Andy Baquero, Abel Martinez, Arturo Diz Pe and Yoisel Piedra.
In addition, the midfielders would be Emmanuel Labrada, Daniel Luis Sáez, Dayron Perez and Arichel Martinez, replacing Brian Rosales, while Hector Morales and Maykel Reyes would play as forwards.
