Cuban volleyball teams to play today in World Championships

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 15 (acn) The Cuban women's and men's team will face the Czech Republic and Poland, respectively, at the start of the second round of the Under 20 and 21 World Volleyball Championships taking place in several cities in Puerto Rico (W) and Mexico (M).

After their performance in the first round, in which they accumulated one win and two losses, the Cuban girls now appear in Group G, based in Maunabo, where they will compete for the positions from ninth to 16th also against Chinese Taipei and Mexico.
The other poole (H) includes Puerto Rico, China, Egypt and Turkey -Caguas-, while the fight for the first eighth seats involves Japan, Peru, Bulgaria and Dominican Republic, in Group E -Gurabo - and Russia, Italy, Serbia and Brazil (F) -Juncos-.
Meanwhile, the Cuban men's squad, which lost the three games of the first round against Brazil, China and Iran, will also seek a position from ninth to 16th, now in Group H against Poland, France and Egypt, with a stage in Mexicali.
The two world championships will end on September 20th.
