HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 8 (acn) Cuba will face Russia on Friday in the first round of U-20 Women's World Volleyball Championship, which will take place until February 20 in several cities in Puerto Rico, with the participation of 16 teams.
According to the website of the event, the Cuban squad is included in Group A, based in Maunabo city, and after the Russians they will face Bulgaria, on Saturday, and Puerto Rico, on Monday, because they will rest on Sunday.
The rest of the first matches will be China- Mexico, Japan-Egypt and Brazil- Czech Republic, with scenarios in Juncos, Caguas and Guarabo respectively.
China and Mexico appear in Poole B along with Peru and Serbia, while Japan, Egypt , Italy and Chinese Taipei were included in Group C.
Meanwhile , Brazil, Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic and Turkey made up Poole D.
The second and third preliminary rounds are planned for Tuesday 15 and Friday 18 because medals will be discussed on Sunday 20.
