Cuba ranks sixth at World Athletics ChampionshipsHAVANA, Cuba, Aug 27 (acn) With two gold medals and one silver, Cuba ranks sixth in the standings after six rounds of the World Athletics Championships hosted by Beijing, China.

Today, the Cuban delegation won its third medal in the strong universal event through Pedro Pablo Pichardo , who finished second in the men's triple jump .

Pichardo reached 17.73 meters and was surpassed by American Christian Taylor (18.21).

The Caribbean island has also won gold medals through the discus thrower Denia Caballero (69.28 meters) and pole vaulter Yarisley Silva (4.90 m).

So far, Kenya (6-3-2) leads by nations, followed by the United States (3-4-5), Jamaica (3-0-2), Great Britain ( 3-0-0) and Poland (2 -1-3).

Two years ago, in Moscow, Cuba finished 23rd in the standings with one silver and two bronze medals.
