HAVANA, Aug 25 (acn) Cuban discus thrower Denia Caballero got the gold in her first attempt at Beijing World Athletics Championship, which runs till August 30.
Caballero´s discus throw reached 69.28 meters which brought with it her major medal for her sports career in a year of great achievements, since she became Champ at Toronto´s Pan-American Games in June.
The Cuban athlete was followed by Croatian Sandra Perkovic (67.39) and German Nadine Muller (65.53), while another Cuban athlete, Yaime Perez finished fourth with 65.46.
