HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 13 (acn) Cuban judoka Magdiel Estrada won the gold medal in the 73 kg division by defeating Argentine Alejandro Cobas, on the second day of this sport in the 17th Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
On his way to the final, Estrada had previously beaten the Dominican Lwilli Santa in the qualifying stage and Puerto Rican Augusto Miranda in the semifinals.
On Sunday, the Cuban judokas also won two bronze medals through Carlos Tondique (66 kilos) and Aliuska Ojeda (57), who beat the Dominican Wander Mateo and Ecuadorian Joselin Plaza, respectively.
Tondique and Ojeda totaled three wins and one loss.
