HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 1 (acn) Argentina qualified for the title discussion of the Copa America Chile 2015 against the host squad the upcoming Saturday after defeating Paraguay in the second semifinal.
In a game played at the Mayor Esther Roa Rebolledo stadium, in Conception, Argentina beat 6-1 Paraguay achieving thus its best performance of the tournament and launched a warning signal toward the final match.
Supported by the strong performance of Lionel Messi, the world runners up took quick advantage with goals by Marco Rojo and Javier Pastore in the 14th and 27th minutes, but Paraguay managed to score before halftime through Lucas Barrios (43´).
In the second half the Guarani squad fell apart to Argentina's attack, which managed to score through Angel Di Maria in the minutes 47th and 53rd, plus Sergio Aguero (80´) and Gonzalo Higuaín (83´).
After the absolute demonstration of power in the semifinal match against Paraguay, Argentina will seek its 15th title in the history of the Copa America next Saturday when facing the host team at Julio Martínez Prádanos National Stadium, in Santiago de Chile.
A day earlier, Peru and Paraguay will discuss the bronze medal of the South American soccer tournament, in a match that will be played at the Mayor Esther Roa Rebolledo stadium, in Concepcion city.
