HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 15 (acn) The Cuban women's volleyball team defeated Peru in the Pan American Cup which takes place in Lima until June 22, with the presence of 12 teams, seeking to qualify for the Grand Prix of 2016.
According to the website of the event, Cuba won 3-0 (25-21, 25-20 and 25-22), with highlight to Melissa Vargas, top scorer of the match with 21 points, followed by locals Angela Leyva (15) and Maguilaura Frias (12).
Roberto Garcia's disciples will now face Brazil in Group B, which also includes the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Canada.
Meanwhile, Group A includes Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, United States, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
