HAVANA, Cuba, May 28 (acn) Officials of the New York Cosmos confirmed that the team will arrive on Sunday to Havana to carry out a friendly match against the Cuban national team, on June 2nd, at Pedro Marrero Stadium.
According to reports, the NY club will travel to this city with a special guest, the Brazilian star Pele, who was signed by the team in 1975 and left his indelible imprint there.
The command post of the Cuban Football Association also confirmed the presence in the team of two players with broad international experience such as the Spanish striker Raul Gonzalez Blanco -one of the idols of Real Madrid- and Spanish-Brazilian midfielder Marco Senna.
"It's the first time I go to Cuba and it is very exciting, because it will be a historic match for the Cosmos and me. I hope to repeat and that other US teams to play against squads from Cuba '' said the Spanish striker in a video released by the American side.
The Cosmos will arrive in Havana on Sunday to face on Tuesday the Cuban national team, which is training for the match on June 10 against Curacao for the CONCACAF qualifiers towards Russia 2018 World Cup and the Gold Cup in the United States (July).
