HAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (acn) Cuban Leinier Dominguez drew his game when used as first board of St. Petersburg, which defeated 4-2 Kazan during the fourth round of the Russian Team Chess League.Dominguez (2734 Elo points) signed peace with black pieces with American Gata Kamsky (2673) in 40 moves of a Spanish opening.
After this result the Cuban player remained unbeatable and now owns three units in four rounds (two wins and equal amount of draws).
The St. Petersburg achieved wins in the fourth and sixth boards and reached six units appearing thus third in the standings, behind University and Siberia, showing eight each.
The first one won 4-2 Lada, from Samara region, and Siberia crashed 4.5-1.5 the SHSM from Moscow in a match that included win of its star Vladimir Kramnik (2777) over Ian Nopomniachtchi (2 728).
Today Leinier and his teammates will face the Malachite, which has four points, ranks fourth and has to Alexander Grischuk (2780) as the main figure.
The event will conclude on Thursday and is ideal for the Caribbean player, who from May 13 will have another demanding commitment in Khanty -Mansiysk: the last stage of the 2014-2015 Grand Prix.
