Cuban chess will seek second win today in La Roda

 HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 27 (ACN) Winning their second matches in the international chess tournament of La Roda, Spain, is the day’s goal for the Cuban players Carlos Daniel Albornoz, Jorge Roberto Elías and Lennis Martínez, who beat the Spaniards Mateo Corchón and Félix Álvarez and the Chinese Yihan Ha, respectively.

According to www.chess-results.com, Albornoz ranks fifth, Elías is ninth and Lennis tenth.

On their end, the three top players on the starting rank list are the favorites Chithambaram Vr. Aravindh and Venkataraman Karthik (India) and Xiangyu Xu (China).

The La Roda International Chess Tournament, which this year gathers more than 200 players from 22 countries, is one of the regular competitions held every season in Spain.
