Cuban para swimmers fourth in Santiago 2023

 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) Cuban Para-swimmer Yamany Izquierdo finished fourth place in the 50m freestyle class T13 event of the 7th Para Pan American Games of Santiago 2023.

Izquierdo clocked 26.90 seconds, behind the Brazilians Douglas Rochad (25.56) and Tomaz Martinez (26.06) and the Mexican Fernando Martinez (26.65).

Another Cuban, Yosjaniel Hernandez, was also fourth in the 50m butterfly (S7 class) with 33.69 seconds.

With only one day left for the swimming competition, the Cubans have won 2 bronze medals and rank eleventh on the medal table, led by Brazil (50-22-20), Colombia (21-21-12) and Mexico (9-15-18).
