HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) The only incentive left to the Cuba’s 2022 national champion Alain Otero is to come from behind in the two remaining rounds of the ongoing World Youth Chess Championship in Montesilvano, Italy.
After being defeated by the Ukrainian Oleksandr Vasynda—his fourth loss—Otero has only four out of nine possible points and ranks 85th place in the U-18 category.
Next in line for the Cuban is the Greek Spyros Hartofylakas, who also has four points in this tournament still led by the Russian Aleksey Grebnev, who has won four games in a row and boasts 8.5 points.
