HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 15 (acn) The Cuban cyclists involved in the 2nd Women's Tour of San Luis, Argentina , will seek redemption today in the fifth and penultimate stage of the circuit, after a discreet performance in the previous day.
Commanded by the experienced multi-world medalist Yoanka González, the Cuban squad is also made up by Yeima Torres, Mailín Sánchez, Claudia Baró and Iraida Garcia, who before Wednesday was among the leaders of the contest, seat she lost when finishing 63rd in the fourth stage.
Precisely the American Lauren Stephens with time of 18:12 minutes, belonging to the Tibco -SVB team, was the winner in the individual time trial of 12.8 km, performance that allowed her to top the standings with cumulative of 6: 08.53 hours.
Stephens is escorted by the also American Alison Tetrick who runs for the Xirayas San Luis- OPW / MX1 and Ana Polegatch, from the Brazil National Team, respectively.
