HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 27 (ACN) Bárbaro Oliva, president of the Cuban table tennis federation and national commissioner of this discipline, announced new agreements in Europe for the benefit of both experienced and emerging Cuban players.
The newest member of the national team, Rosalba Aguiar, will leave for Italy, as will also-new Carla Pérez and the seasoned players Moisés Campos and Andy Pereira, whereas Eday Gómez, another rising talent, will play in Germany.
Oliva remarked that the said agreements have been signed with clubs that sponsor or grant funds to players so they can attend academies and compete in leagues, even if it is harder for Latinos to sign "official contracts" in Europe, given Asia’s table tennis hegemony.
