HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 24 (ACN) Cuba’s Alejandro Parada will strive today to win a medal in the long jump competition of the 19th World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary.
Parada, who was first in the recent Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, is one of the 12 finalists after a jump of 8.13m in his second attempt, only two centimeters shy of his personal best and good enough to be in the final.
So far, the Cuban delegation has notched up one silver and one bronze medal through the triple jumpers Lázaro Martínez and Cristian Nápoles.
