HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 23 (ACN) Cuban triple jumpers Leyanis Perez and Liadagmis Povea are among the 12 finalists in the 19th World Athletics Championships, held in Budapest, Hungary.
Perez—who was fourth in Eugene last year—and Povea jumped 14.50m and 14.31m, respectively, to secure their presence in the final.
Also qualified was the Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas, longtime queen of the discipline, who reached the 14.59-meter mark.
So far, the Cuban delegation has notched up one silver and one bronze medal through the triple jumpers Lázaro Martínez and Cristian Nápoles.
