Havana, July 3 (ACN) Cuba is scheduled to face Colombia in the opening Tuesday of the women’s volleyball tournament of the 24th Central American and Caribbean Games, taking place at the Carlos El Famoso Sports Palace in San Salvador.
Cubans and Colombians are included in key B; while the competition will also feature El Salvador vs Trinidad-Tobago also in Key B, while Puerto Ricans will face Mexicans, and Dominicans will play against Costa Ricans in Key A, according to the games’ website.
The Cubans will meet the Salvadorians on Wednesday and the Trinidadians on Thursday at the close of the stage by groups. The leaders of each segment will go direct to the semifinals on Friday.
On Saturday, the public will know the winners of gold and bronze as well as those on the seventh and fifth places.
In the history of Central American and Caribbean games, the Cuban women’s teams have won in eight occasions.
