Cuban rowers win four medals in San Salvador

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 28 (ACN) Cuba bid farewll to the 24th Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023 with one gold and three silver medals, with the coxless quad (4x)’s performance as the highlight of the tournament.

Reidy Cardona, Carlos Ajete, Roberto Paz and Leduar Suárez finished first with 5:45.47 min, ahead of the boats from Mexico (5:47.95) and Venezuela (6:14.47).

Meanwhile, Milena Venega in the single scull (1x), Venega and Ana Laura Jimenez in the double sculls (2x), and Cardona, Andrey Barnet, Yariulvis Cobas and Natalie Barbara Morales in the straight four (4-) won the silver medals.

Mexico dominated the overall event with nine gold and three silver medals, followed by Cuba (3-7-0) and Venezuela (0-2-5).
