San Salvador 2023: Cuba, an example of solidarity

SAN SALVADOR, Cuba, Jun 27 (ACN) With Cuban flags a group of Salvadorans go to the Saturnino Bengoa baseball stadium in this city, moved by the feelings of brotherhood between the two countries and the solidarity that Cuba has always expressed.

The support to the Cuban team is not a coincidence, because Andres Valiente, resident of San Salvador, said that the Caribbean nation is a reference in the world because it shares what it has.

He told the Cuban News Agency that thousands of Salvadorans have graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine or have undergone free surgeries for eye diseases, thanks to the Miracle Mission.

The doctors came here to help us and members of my family benefited from that program; even some neighbors traveled to Cuba for that purpose, said the man who feels grateful.

I admire the Cubans very much, because they maintain their humanism with the world and are an example of resistance to the economic blockade imposed by the United States, he said, while regretting not having had the opportunity to visit the country.

Ramon El Suizo, as he is known since he arrived in El Salvador in the 1980s, is a member of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in this Central American nation and has led caravans against the unfair policy of the U.S. government.

These XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games have been an opportunity to show our support to the Caribbean nation and its people, he said.

On the streets, in cabs or in the sports facilities, those who identify the Cuban press team accredited in the regional multisport event do not hesitate to convey their sympathy for the Caribbean country, its people and its culture.
