HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 27 (ACN) Brilliant, formidable, pure courage were once again Elisbet Gamez and Andrea Becali, winning gold and bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
In a postponed final and under heavy rain, the Cubans repeated the results of the previous day in the 200m freestyle.
In the 100 free, Gamez finished third in the first leg but came back in the last, as she did on Sunday.
The 26-year-old girl clocked 55.57 seconds, followed by Mexico's Athena Meneses (56.39) and Becali (56.51), according to the official results.
Becali, a teenager from Havana, also went from strength to strength, with a similar performance to the previous day.
It had been decades since Cuban swimmers had achieved results like these in Central American and Caribbean Games.
