Cuban discus thrower excels in Castellon meeting

Havana, Jun 14 (ACN) With a mark of 65.06 m, which improved by almost two meters her previous personal record (63.17m), Cuban discus thrower Silinda Morales finished first at the athletics meeting held in Castellon, Spain.

With this result, Morales—winner of the 5th ALBA Games in Venezuela last April—qualified for the 2023 World Athletics Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary, on August 19 to 27.

On May 31, Morales was third place in the international meeting of Montreuil, France, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver, with 61.39 m.
