Cuban long jumper to compete in Paris Diamond League

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 8 (ACN) Cuban long jumper Maykel Massó will be tomorrow in the fourth event of the Diamond League 2023 season, organized in Paris, France.

Massó, third in Tokyo 2020, will seek to debut with a good result in this strong competition, in which one of his main contenders will be the current Olympic champion, Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglu.

Barring the Cuba Cup held in Havana in May—which he won with 8.36m—the Cuban has hardly seen any outdoor action so far this season.

Massó, who was U20 world champion in 2016, registered an indoor personal best of 8.15m in February this year in Madrid, Spain, where he finished second, precisely behind Tentoglou.
